Stormy

We spent most of yesterday and some of today in a dark, cold house. The tropical storm that blew threw (or is still blowing) brought lots of nice damage to homes. The kids were excited because Wed. there was no school and then they canceled the remaining days of the week due to dangerous winds and high floods.
I tell you what, my UPS driver is amazing he has been out these 3 days in the severe weather, with gusts up to 75mph, delivering packages every day to me (Christmas presents). I have to find out who he is so I can thank him. I had to go out today after our power was finally restored and get a few groceries. Lots of homes had damage so I was thankful we only had one minor leak. Other places didn't have their fences, siding was ripped off of their homes or one place had the ever dreaded tree crashed threw the roof.
Our mail didn't survive. Ha! The mailbox door was opened and some was hanging out this morning. I found my acceptance letter to Strayer University. I think it said I was accepted into the MBA program?

The Good Sitter
Khari went through the Red Cross Babysitters Course in Okinawa. This class also certifies them in First Aid and CPR. The CPR was only good for one year so we have been trying to get her re-certified here but the Red Cross Chapter cancelled the last class so she needs to get into the next one. In the meantime she has been brushing up on her first aid at home. She was practicing the blanket drag for fire rescue with Malachi and Tyler.

Haircuts
The boys haven't had haircuts in so long. I have really missed the convenience of walking to the PX, like in Okinawa, and getting their haircut. Here we have to drive in traffic to a base not even remotely within walking distance. Not to mention for a bad haircut (this time). I was disappointed. I want the cute, little Okinawan women cutting the boy's hair.....sigh.

Hollie and Deni at work
I really miss photographing Okinawa. I wasn't a pro like my friend Pamela (she took this picture). You can check out her work here : http://www.pamelaoliveras.com/
I just can't seem to find all the amazing beauty I saw on the island. I know it is here, I just can't see it yet. I guess I just need to get out there and start exploring.

Pee Pee Dance
I started potty training Tyler back in Okinawa. We had a set back there and held off until we moved. We now started potty training again and we just completed a successful 5th day. I now realized in Okinawa he just wasn't ready. He is ready now! We are still working on things like him telling me he has to go. I basically have to look for him doing the "pee pee dance". He also still won't go on a big toilet, he'll sit on one now, but won't go. So for all of you who didn't care to read about my child and potty training, sorry. I am proud of both of us. Before I sent the kids to daycare and they basically potty trained them for me.
